Troubleshooting
Failed posts
Diagnose and recover a failed post: read the recorded reason, fix the cause, and retry — without bypassing approval.

A failed post is visible and recoverable. Signal records why each failure happened, so recovery starts with reading the reason rather than guessing.
Step by step
- 1Open the failed item
Signal shows the recorded failure reason — a platform error, a rejected payload, or an expired connection.
- 2Fix the cause
Reconnect an expired account, adjust rejected content, or wait out a rate limit.
- 3Retry
The retry returns the item to scheduled with a fresh attempt budget. Approval still stands, so this never bypasses the gate.
Troubleshooting
- It keeps failing the same way.
- The cause is permanent (e.g. a malformed request or a subreddit rule). Change the content or target, not just retry.
- Not sure if it partially published.
- If the item was a stale claim, check the platform first — it may already be live. See Understanding stale claims.
